Job Summary:
Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse (RN) position available in a Level II maternity unit. The role involves providing high-risk perinatal care in a facility with comprehensive maternity services and Level II Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. The position is located less than one mile from a major campus, with an immediate start date and scheduled for nights. The ideal candidate will be adaptable and have experience in handling a high volume of deliveries.
Job Details:
- Certifications: BCLS, ACLS, NRP, AWHONN Intermediate or Relias Fetal Monitoring (required)
- Education/Experience: 2 years of clinical experience in labor and delivery; valid state license; at least 1-year experience required; first-timers accepted
- Schedule: Nights, 12-hour shifts, minimum of 48 hours per week, starting 09/21/2026 and ending 12/21/2026
- Patient Ratios: 1:1 in labor, 1:3 in postpartum with CNA support, 1:2-3 in antepartum, triage staffed with 3 skilled RNs per shift
- Unit Details: High-risk perinatal care with 19 labor and delivery beds, 10 antepartum beds, 30 postpartum beds, 3 ORs, 2 PACU beds, and a 7 bay triage area
- Additional Responsibilities: Assisting high-risk deliveries, sterile speculum exams, postpartum care, fetal monitoring, neonatal resuscitation, labor support, epidurals, and managing multiple gestations and complications such as pre-eclampsia and hemorrhage
- Equipment: All certifications are mandatory; experience with fetal monitoring, sterile procedures, and neonatal care required
- Staffing & Scheduling: 3 nurses per shift in triage, surgical techs, CNAs, CRNAs, health unit coordinators on duty 24/7
- Orientation: 40 hours
- Travel and Additional Notes: Candidates must be willing to work 3 out of 5 holidays; all scheduling requests to be included at submission; candidates without recent experience in high-volume facilities will be screened carefully
- Requirements: Valid state license (compact license accepted), at least 1 year of relevant experience, and required certifications; must not have worked at a related facility within the last 3 months without prior approval
