Job Summary:
Labor and Delivery Nurse (L&D) in Florence, Alabama. This position involves providing specialized care to women during labor, delivery, and postpartum periods. The role requires clinical expertise in fetal monitoring, postpartum care, and emergency response, supporting a busy labor and delivery unit with adult patient populations.
Job Details:
- Schedule: Night shifts (7:00 PM 7:00 AM), 48 hours per week
- Required Qualifications: Valid licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN), presence of ACLS or ALS-OB certification, NRP certification, Electronic Fetal Monitoring (EFM) certification, BLS certification, minimum of 3 years of experience in labor and delivery nursing, located within 60 miles of Florence, Alabama
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience with postpartum care, fetal assessment, and emergency response
- Additional Information: Must be able to start 7-10 days from offer acceptance. Weekly orientation on Mondays. Position based in a labor and delivery unit with 9 beds and a patient ratio of 1:1. Equipment used includes Centricity and Meditech. Candidate must demonstrate adaptability, teamwork, attention to detail, stamina, strong communication skills, and empathy. Scrubs must be Ceil Blue, with non-compliant or graphic scrubs, and inappropriate shoe wear being unacceptable.
- Unit Information: Labor and Delivery department with a focus on normal spontaneous labor, pre-term labor, gestational hypertension, preeclampsia, placenta previa, placental abruption, fetal distress, umbilical cord prolapse, postpartum hemorrhage.
