*Estimated weekly pay includes projected hourly wages and weekly meal and lodging per diems for eligible clinicians based on nationally published GSA rates. Actual weekly pay and per diems may differ from the amount shown and are subject to change during an assignment.

1. General Job Duties / Types of Procedures Required

Labor & Delivery

RN care for the labor and delivery unit, including:

Antepartum care

Vaginal delivery

Cesarean section delivery

Immediate delivery care

Receive newborns in the delivery room

Provide NRP resuscitation as needed

Postpartum / Mother-Baby

RN care for postpartum moms and newborns on the mother-baby unit

Well Newborn / Special Care Nursery

RN care for well newborn and special care nursery babies, which may include but is not limited to:

Initial stabilization of newborn after delivery

Medications

Breastfeeding assistance

CPAP

PIV access and maintenance

IV fluids and antibiotics

Hyperbilirubinemia

Hypoglycemia

Stabilize for transport to tertiary care center

2. Equipment Utilized in the Unit/Department

Computerized charting

Pyxis

Central electronic fetal monitoring

Alaris IV smart pumps

3. Required Skills and Minimum Years of Experience

Minimum of 2 years of experience in:

L&D

Postpartum

Special Care Nursery

4. Required Licensures and Certifications/Registrations

BLS

NRP

Intermediate AWHONN

Wyoming State or Compact nursing license

5. Shift / Schedule Requirements

Shift: Nights, 7p–7a

Scheduling: Self-scheduling

Always scheduled with other staff

Travelers will fill in departmental needs for schedules

Weekends: 2 weekends per month required

Holidays: If covering over holidays, 2 holidays required

Call: No call requirements at this time, but this may change if department needs arise

6. Floating to Other Units/Departments

At times, the RN may float to:

Medical floor

ER

The RN will not take a patient load but will assist with basic tasks on those units if needed.

3 LDRs

5 postpartum

4 triage

Recovering area

OR suite

8. Nurse-to-Patient Ratio

AWHONN guidelines

9. Dress Code

Scrubs are provided for staff.

No tattoos showing.

Body jewelry must be removed during working hours, except studs in ear lobes.

Two-day orientation covering:
