Job Summary:
The labor and delivery registered nurse position is located in Nampa, Idaho. This role involves providing care to women during labor, delivery, postpartum, and neonatal care within a busy obstetrics unit. The nurse will work nights, supporting a high-volume department with diverse patient needs, ensuring safe and high-quality maternal and neonatal care.
Job Details:
- Schedule: Nights shifts; 12 hours per shift; minimum of 36 hours per week.
- Required Qualifications: Must have 3 years of labor and delivery experience; at least 1 year of mother-baby nursing experience preferred; comfortable with first-time travel; capable of attending deliveries, completing newborn care, triage, circulating cesarean sections, and providing postpartum couplet care; experience with magnesium protocol; active ACLS, BLS, NRP, and Stable certifications.
- Preferred Qualifications: Charge nurse experience is a plus.
- Duties: Support unit operations including attending deliveries, caring for mothers and newborns, administering titratable drips such as Pitocin, magnesium, and insulin; perform physical assessments; assist with emergencies; collaborate with multidisciplinary team including nurse aides, surgical techs, and anesthesiologists; stabilizing newborns and assisting with postpartum care.
- Additional Information: Float to all St. Lukes Treasure Valley sites, including Meridian, Nampa, and Boise; uniform required as hospital-issued scrubs; orientation includes four shifts on the unit with EPIC and compliance training completed prior to start; travel duos require separate cars; facility adheres to a 50-mile radius rule for candidates permanent addresses.
