Job Summary:
Labor and Delivery Department Manager position is located in a Level III Trauma Center with 375 licensed beds. This role involves overseeing patient care in a busy obstetric unit that specializes in antepartum, labor, and postpartum care, including high-risk deliveries and NICU support. The manager will coordinate clinical operations, support staff, and ensure compliance with hospital and regulatory standards at this facility.

Job Details:

  • Schedule: 12-hour shifts, with rotations on every other weekend, from 07:00-19:00 or 19:00-07:00, minimum of 36 hours per week.
  • Required Qualifications: One year of relevant experience, active license and certifications including BLS, NRP, and fetal monitoring (AWHONN or Relias module). Experience with cervical exams, antepartum and labor management, epidurals, IVs, Pitocin, and couplet care.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Experience with Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) in cases of births at or less than 34 weeks, Pyxis medication dispensing, and familiarity with hospital telemetry and electronic medical records (EMR) systems such as EPIC Stork and GE Centricity.
  • Additional Information: The role requires supporting a unit with a high-volume patient flow, managing obstetric emergencies, and maintaining compliance with hospital and regulatory standards. Orientation includes facility-specific and unit-specific training. The position is suited for candidates comfortable floating within their competence areas, primarily between Labor and Delivery and Mother/Baby units.
