Job Summary:
Labor and Delivery Nurse specializing in obstetrics located in a dedicated Labor and Delivery Department. This role involves providing high-risk labor, delivery, and postpartum care for a diverse patient population, including neonates, adolescents, infants, and adults. The position offers flexible options for 36 or 48 hours per week, with a focus on supporting complex maternal and fetal needs through specialized skills and certifications.
Job Details:
- Shift: Nights, 12 hours shifts
- Minimum Hours Per Week: 48 hours

- Required Qualifications: Valid Kansas or Compact Registered Nurse (RN) license in hand at the time of submission, 2 years of labor and delivery experience, certifications including Basic Life Support (BLS), and Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP).
- Preferred Qualifications: 2 years of experience in a high-volume labor and delivery setting, previous charge experience, familiarity with Epic charting system, and experience handling high-risk obstetrical cases.
- Certifications: BLS, NRP, and Fetal Heart Monitoring (FHM) are required in hand at submission.
- Skills: Expertise in administration of blood and blood products, management of high-risk labor, Cesarean sections, postpartum care, fetal monitoring, neonatal resuscitation, and troubleshooting obstetrical emergencies.
- Patient Care: High-risk pregnancies including pre-eclampsia, diabetes management, emergent cesarean sections, external cephalic versions, and postpartum hemorrhage management.
- Travel & Float: Float to similar units within scope as needed; travelers will receive a brief orientation on the unit.
- Additional Information: This role involves caring for laboring patients with complex conditions in a Level II nursery setting, supporting neonatal stabilization, and assisting with procedures such as amniocentesis, external cephalic versions, and other high-risk obstetric interventions.
