Job Summary:
Labor and Delivery Nurse (L&D) specialty, working in a hospital setting, provides comprehensive care to women during labor, delivery, and postpartum. This role involves managing high-risk deliveries, assisting with vaginal and cesarean births, and ensuring patient safety using Electronic Fetal Heart Monitoring. The position is located at a facility with a daily census of 100-200 patient visits, supporting a wide variety of obstetric patient needs.

Job Details:

  • Schedule: Day shifts, 12 hours per shift, minimum of 48 hours per week.
  • Required Qualifications: Valid certifications in Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Advanced Womens Health, Obstetric and Neonatal Nursing (AWHONN) Intermediate level, Basic Life Support (BLS), and Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP). Candidates should have a minimum of 2 years of previous charge experience, 2 years of patient ratio experience, and familiarity with community hospital charting systems.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Previous experience with high-risk deliveries, obstetric procedures, and use of Electronic Fetal Monitoring.
  • Additional Information: Weekend shifts are required on a rotating basis, with 4-6 weekend shifts every 6 weeks. Scrubs are provided. The role involves staffing during a patient age range from neonates to adults, with a patient census of 15 beds. Floating to like units within scope may be required based on facility needs. Orientation and onboarding modules are completed onsite during orientation, with all hours recorded via transcripts.
  • Submittal Details: Candidates must hold or be in the process of obtaining a valid NM or Compact license prior to start. Previous staff must wait one year before returning as travelers. The position adheres to compliance regulations, including timely lab draws within 48 business hours after contract initiation.
