Professional Staff Nurse - LDRP Unit
Job Description
The Professional Staff Nurse is a Registered Nurse and integral member of the care delivery team. This role involves setting standards for the level and quality of nursing care, with responsibility, authority, and accountability for the provision of patient care. The Professional Staff Nurse manages patient care activities for a group of patients and their families through independent judgment, effective communication, and collaboration with all team members to achieve desired patient outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Perform according to system-wide competencies and behaviors.
- Actively engage in department-specific quality improvement efforts and personal accountability for enhancing patient satisfaction.
- Utilize research and evidence-based practice for clinical care improvements and participate in multidisciplinary rounds.
- Apply the nursing process within the framework of Relationship Based Care to create a healing environment and formulate individualized care plans.
- Demonstrate critical thinking in identifying and addressing clinical, social, safety, psychological, and spiritual issues.
- Ensure comprehensive patient documentation to enhance communication among caregivers.
- Serve as an engaged partner on the care team and adapt to changes in the professional practice environment.
- Utilize adult learning principles in patient, family, and staff education.
- Foster productive working relationships and communicate safety hazards identified in the workplace.
Schedule
Rotating shifts, including days from 6:45 AM to 7:15 PM and nights from 6:45 PM to 7:15 AM. Weekend requirements are every third weekend with no call requirement, though call is available if desired.
Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure
- Registered Nurse (RN) license in Pennsylvania or a compact state.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Experience as a Labor and Delivery Nurse.
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) and Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certifications required.
- Two years of nursing experience preferred.
Assignment Duration
This is a 13-week contract position.
