Job Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse license required before start date
• Minimum of 2 years of Labor & Delivery nursing experience required
• Previous charge nurse experience required
• BLS, ACLS, NRP, NIHSS, and AWHONN certifications required
• AWHONN Advanced and AWHONN Intermediate certifications preferred/required per unit needs
• Cerner experience preferred
• Ability to work rotating assignments in triage, antepartum, labor, circulate, and transition
• Comfortable supporting a busy L&D unit with fluctuating daily volume
• Flexibility to work some holidays and comply with travel nursing documentation requirements

Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care to patients in labor and delivery, antepartum, and triage settings
• Assist with vaginal deliveries and cesarean sections
• Support fetal monitoring, recognize abnormal fetal heart patterns, and intervene as needed
• Perform circulating duties for C-sections and assist with transition care for newborns
• Manage IVs, medications, blood products, and labor-support therapies as ordered
• Respond to high-risk obstetric situations with strong assessment and clinical judgment
• Collaborate with physicians and the care team to ensure safe, efficient patient flow across the unit
• Maintain accurate documentation and follow facility protocols for patient care and safety
