Job Summary:
Labor and Delivery (L&D) Registered Nurse position in Buckhannon, West Virginia. This role involves providing specialized obstetric care in a dedicated L&D unit, handling patients from 20 weeks of gestation and up. The position offers 12-hour day shifts, with scheduled weekends, and requires proficiency in C-section circulation and fetal monitoring.

Job Details:

  • Shift Hours: 12-hour shifts from 6:45 AM to 7:15 PM, with weekends as scheduled
  • Required Qualifications: Active license to submit, willingness to wait for credentials, ACLS, BLS certification, Intermediate Fetal Monitoring, Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP); minimum of 2 years of obstetric experience
  • Specialty: Labor and Delivery Department (L&D)
  • Schedule: 36 hours per week, days only
  • Start Date: 08/31/2026
  • Common Patient Conditions: Pregnancies at 20 weeks and beyond, including patients with magnesium, insulin management, pitocin, multiples, and VBACs; occasional overflow from Med-Surg or Critical Care Unit depending on bed availability and COVID-related patient flow
  • Clinical Systems: Electronic Fetal Heart Monitoring system (Centricity FHM), charting via TruBridge - Evident
  • Additional Responsibilities: C-Section circulation ability required, potential to float to MedSurg or ER as helping hands, unit-specific orientation by preceptor for 2-3 shifts
  • Providers: On-call OB/Neonatologists, Nurse Midwives in-house, 24/7 Respiratory Therapy in-house, pharmacy services after hours through UHC (United Hospital Center) using Pyxis medication dispensing system
  • Qualifications: BLS, ACLS, NRP, Intermediate Fetal Monitoring certification; 2 years obstetric experience preferred
  • Additional Notes: All submissions must include a copy of the candidate's unexpired driver's license; unit operates with a 50-mile radius rule
