Job Summary:
Labor and Delivery Nurse specializing in Level I and Level II trauma facilities, located in the area, is responsible for providing high-quality obstetric care for high-risk obstetric patients. The role involves delivering comprehensive postpartum and mother-baby care, with experience in labor, vaginal deliveries, cesarean sections, and electronic fetal monitoring. The position supports a busy facility requiring dedicated professionals to ensure patient safety and optimal outcomes.
Job Details:
- Schedule: Night shifts, 12 hours per shift, minimum of 36 hours per week
- Required Qualifications: Valid Iowa or multistate nursing license, at least 2 years of recent/current Labor Delivery experience, Intermediate or Advanced Electronic Fetal Monitoring (EFM) / Association of Women's Health, Obstetric and Neonatal Nurses (AWHONN) certificate, Epic electronic medical record (EMR) experience, recent/current experience in high-risk obstetric care in Level I or II trauma facilities, antepartum, cesarean, vaginal delivery experience, minimum 1 completed travel assignment within the past 12 months, active BLS, ACLS, Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP), and AWHONN certification, drivers license required, professional references from within 24 months, and compliance with work history and skills checklist specific to Labor and Delivery.
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience with high-risk obstetrics in trauma facilities, current/recent high-risk obstetrics experience, and certifications or experience preferred for additional clinical support.
- Float: Float rotation may be required across all campuses including Iowa Methodist, Iowa Lutheran, and associated facilities.
- Additional Information: The assignment begins on 09/14/2026 with consideration for earlier start dates. Candidates must have prior travel experience in labor and delivery, and possess current certifications in BLS, ACLS, NRP, Fetal Heart Monitoring (FHM), and AWHONN. No prior travel in the last 12 months is allowed for new travelers. Orientation is scheduled for 09/14/2026 and 09/28/2026.
