Job Summary:
A Labor and Delivery (L&D) Nurse is needed in Garden City, Kansas. This role involves providing specialized care in a high-volume maternity unit, with responsibilities including circulating in operative deliveries, monitoring fetal activity, and collaborating with the healthcare team to ensure quality maternal and neonatal outcomes. The position requires flexibility to float between different units such as Labor and Delivery, Postpartum, and Mother/Baby to meet patient needs.
Job Details:
- Location: Garden City, Kansas
- Schedule: Rotating shifts, 11.5 hours per shift, with a minimum of 34.5 hours per week
- Start Date: 08/24/2026
- Required Certifications: Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) as per American Heart Association (AHA), Basic Life Support (BLS), Intermediate Fetal Monitoring, Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP)
- Experience and Education: Minimum of 2 years of experience in Labor and Delivery; appropriate licensure to submit certifications and licensure documentation
- Shift Details: Nights and every other weekend, with potential on-call duties; floating between units as needed; unit specific orientation of 1-2 shifts
- Certifications & Skills: Experience with LDRP, couplet care, circulating in operating rooms, reading fetal monitoring strips; prepared to titrate pitocin and handle complex obstetric cases
- Additional Notes: Candidate must be in the state during orientation week, with a radius restriction of 60 miles; no in-house neonatal or anesthesia teams; external telemonitoring is standard; dress code is any professional colors; hospital can cancel up to four shifts per 13-week assignment
