Job Summary:
Labor and Delivery Nurse (L&D) for a hospital specializing in Women & Infants care. This role involves providing specialized nursing services in a Level IV labor and delivery unit, including high-risk obstetrics and triage. The position requires adherence to established guidelines, proficiency with advanced external fetal monitoring, and certification in neonatal resuscitation. The nurse will work a night shift with a weekly schedule of 36 hours, including every third weekend and holiday rotations.
Job Details:
- Schedule: Nights, 12-hour shifts, 36 hours per week.
- Required Qualifications: Valid nursing license and verification, driver's license or state ID, completion of Ascension profile, two professional references, and a current resume.
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience with Magnesium administration, insulin drips, and advanced NRP certification.
- Float: Float rotation may be required to the Carmel labor and delivery unit if needed.
- Additional Information: The nurse will serve as a charge nurse in both labor and delivery and high-risk units, with responsibilities including caring for patients during active and early labor, and performing baby nurse duties for deliveries. The unit follows AWHONN (Asociation of Women's Health, Obstetric and Neonatal Nurses) guidelines, maintaining a 1:1 patient ratio during active labor and a two-patient ratio during early and latent labor. Orientation will be provided for two shifts. Commitment to consistent attendance is essential, as there is no tolerance for calling in.
