Job Summary:
Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse (RN) position in the labor and delivery department. This role involves monitoring and assisting laboring patients, communicating with providers, circulating in operating rooms for cesarean sections, supporting newborn resuscitation, and caring for antepartum, intrapartum, postpartum, and neonatal patients. The assignment is set for 13 weeks starting on 08/24/2026, with day shifts from 6:45 a.m. to 7:15 p.m., including weekend and floating duties.
Job Details:
- Schedule: Days, 12-hour shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week
- Required Qualifications: Certifications in Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP); 2+ years of experience; at least 2 travel assignments in labor and delivery; ability to pass an EKG; must be able to meet call requirements, including weekend shifts every 6 weeks.
- Preferred Qualifications: CPN (Certified Pediatric Nurse) and Cerner experience.
- Float: Float rotation may be required between departments in the Women's Pavilion.
- Additional Information:
- Must be able to circulate for vaginal deliveries; circulating for cesarean sections is preferred.
- Attending deliveries to support newborn resuscitation and care for antepartum patients in labor and delivery units.
- Position includes limited RTO as long as weekend requirements are met.
- Scrub color: Navy blue.
- EMR systems used: CPN (GE) and Cerner.
- Patient ratio: 1:1 or 1:2 as per AWHONN staffing standards.
- The unit has 13 beds (8 LDRs and 5 Triage beds).
