Job Summary:
Labor and Delivery Nurse in San Antonio, Texas. This position involves providing high-quality nursing care in a perinatal setting, practicing independently while demonstrating awareness of all relevant clinical aspects. The role includes managing routine and complex patient care, collaborating with the healthcare team, and supporting expectant mothers and their families through various stages of labor and delivery.

Job Details:

  • Schedule: Nights shift from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM, with a minimum of 36 hours per week.
  • Required Qualifications: Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing, current RN license in Texas or a compact state, and certification from one of the following: AWHONN Intermediate Fetal Heart Monitoring (FHM), NCC Electronic Fetal Monitoring (C-EFM), Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association, Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP), and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) from the American Heart Association. One year of experience in the related nursing specialty is preferred.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Recent practice in a perinatal or Labor and Delivery setting is preferred. New graduates must attend New Nurses Orientation within the first 30 days of hire, and all nurses must complete annual competency verification requirements.
  • Additional Information: The role involves assessing patients, administering medications and treatments, documenting care, and providing education to patients and their families. Flexibility for a night shift schedule is required to meet patient care needs.
