Job Summary:
Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse in Denver, Colorado. This position involves performing independent nursing functions and delegated medical functions, including assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating nursing care for obstetric patients. The nurse will provide health teaching, support, and restorative therapy, while adhering to practice standards and regulatory guidelines. Flexibility to float to other units and be placed on-call during scheduled shifts may be required.
Job Details:
- Schedule: Night shift with 12-hour shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week
- Required Qualifications: Current license as a Registered Nurse in the state of practice; ASN (Associate of Science Nursing) or higher degree from an accredited School of Nursing; BLS (American Heart Association) certification; at least 1 year of nursing experience
- Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor's degree of Nursing; additional certifications as appropriate for the labor and delivery unit; previous experience in labor and delivery nursing
- Additional Information: Performs health assessment and health teaching specific to obstetric care; executes medical functions delegated by physicians; monitors treatment and therapy plans; maintains documentation in accordance with regulatory standards; utilizes resources effectively; may be asked to float within scope of competency and qualifications; may be placed on-call during scheduled shift.
