Job Summary:
Labor and Delivery Nurse in Richmond, Virginia. This role supports the unit's high-acuity obstetric care, providing quality patient care in a dynamic hospital environment. The position involves managing labor, delivery, and postpartum patients with adherence to unit protocols and standards.
Job Details:
- Schedule: Night shift, 12 hours per shift, minimum 36 hours per week starting from 09/07/2026.
- Required Qualifications: Current (within previous 2 years) Intermediate Fetal Heart Monitoring (FHM) certification, Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP), Basic Life Support (BLS), and Labor and Delivery (L&D) experience.
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience at facilities with 3000 or more annual births; familiarity with Novii monitors, iMobile, and other specialized equipment.
- Additional Information: The unit has 16 labor, delivery, and recovery beds, with staffing including charge nurses, registered nurses, and surgical technicians. Equipment used includes Novii monitors, headsets, pass-through skin-to-skin C-section drapes, and aromatherapy. Responsibilities include managing labor, delivery, postpartum, triage, antepartum, and C-section procedures, along with neonatal care and breastfeeding support. The unit is supported 24/7 by hospitalist teams, midwives, anesthesiologists, and neonatologists. Cultural diversity and compliance with dress code (navy blue scrubs and covered tattoos/piercings) are valued.
