The Critical Care Registered Nurse assumes responsibility and accountability for the application of the nursing process and the delivery of patient care in a variety of critical care settings. Consistently performs according to nursing standards and is accountable in managing patient care and assisting others in the management of patient care. Responsibilities include monitoring, assessment, vital sign monitoring, ventilator management, medication administration, intravenous insertion and infusion, central line care, catheters, and maintenance of a running record of the patient’s status. The Critical Care RN must be prepared at all times to perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation and other lifesaving measures for the patients in their care.
Highlights:
· 25 bed critical access hospital
· average daily Med Surg census is approximately 12-15
· deliver 20-30 babies per month
· ED is a level IV trauma center and sees approximately 14,000 patients per year (around 35-40/day)
· 280-300 surgeries per month. general surgery, orthopedics, urology, podiatry, ophthalmology, OB/Gyn, vascular specialists, ENT
· Patient Ratios: Med Surg (days) 1:4, Med Surg (nights) 1:5, CCU 1:2, ED 1:4
Requirements
- Minimum 1 year of recent ICU/Critical Care experience
- Active Oregon RN License preferred (90-day exception accepted)
- BLS, ACLS, PALs, TNCC (Can be received during credentialing)
- Cerner experience required
- Experience with:
- Ventilators
- Vasopressors
- Sepsis management
- Medical-level pediatrics
Additional Notes
- Travelers may be required to float between ICU, Med Surg, and ED
- Occasional sitter shifts may be required
- Orientation includes classroom training followed by unit-specific onboarding
