Job Summary:
Registered Nurse (RN) specializing in Intensive Care Unit (ICU) is needed in the Saint Louis, Missouri area. This opportunity involves managing adult patients with complex medical conditions, including multi-system organ failure and advanced airway management. The role requires flexibility to float within scope to various units within the facility, with a focus on providing expert patient care in a fast-paced environment.
Job Details:
- Schedule: Nights shift, 12 hours per shift, minimum of 48 hours per week
- Required Qualifications: Valid Missouri or compact license, minimum of 2 years of ICU experience, BCLS (Basic Cardiac Life Support), ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support), BSN degree preferred, pass Relias EKG exam, interpret and manage dysrhythmias
- Certifications Preferred: Teaching hospital experience, travel experience (including first-time travelers accepted)
- Float: Float to oncology floors, oncology service line, and ICU within scope; potential to float anywhere in the facility
- Open to accommodating block schedule: No
- Locals accepted: No, within 75-mile radius
- Pending License Accepted: Yes
- RTO Restrictions: Max of 7 days of RTO per 13-week contract, no RTO allowed during the first week
- Special Requirements: Epic electronic medical records system experience required, must pass Relias EKG exam
- Unit Details: No chemotherapy involvement, chest tubes, or nurses drawing own phlebotomy; manages chest tubes but does not administer chemotherapy; give care for ventilated patients, arterial line management, blood product administration, central line care, PICC line management, continuous IV sedation, procedural sedation, titrate cardiac and vasoactive drips, high flow nasal cannula, ABG interpretation, suctioning, infection prevention, PPE use
- Patient Population: Adults, daily census of approximately 21 patients in a 25-bed unit
- Additional Unit Information: Interdisciplinary support including IV teams, respiratory services, pharmacy, social services, radiology, rapid response teams, and more
- Transportation & Orientation: Park in designated garage with orientation details provided; wear scrubs for orientation.
