Job Summary:
ICU (Intensive Care Unit) Registered Nurse (RN) Night Shift located in a fast-paced acute care setting. This role involves providing specialized critical care to trauma, neuro-stroke, head injury, and ventriculostomy patients, with a focus on ICP monitoring and ventilator management. Candidates must be prepared to work a demanding environment and collaborate effectively with a multidisciplinary team.

Job Details:

  • Schedule: Night shift, 12 hours per shift, with a minimum of 36 hours per week, scheduled approximately 6 weeks in advance.
  • Required Qualifications: Valid license to practice as an RN, ACLS & BLS certifications, COVID vaccination, NIHSS certification, minimum 2 years of experience in ICU or critical care settings, proficiency with ICP monitoring and ventilator management, experience with trauma and neuro patients, and previous travel experience preferred.
  • Preferred Qualifications: PALS certification is preferred; essential for travelers staying longer than 6 months.
  • Additional Information:
    • Unit notes: Trauma, neuro-strokes, ventriculostomies, ICP monitoring experience required.
    • RN will be responsible for titrating emergent drips such as vasopressors and sedation.
    • Charge nurse maintains 24/7 shift without patient assignments; house supervisor also on shift.
    • RT in ICU 24/7, with equipment including Hamilton vents, and GE monitors read by RNs.
    • Self-scheduling allowed, but schedules are reviewed by management; includes every other weekend and holiday considerations.
    • Floating to other settings such as PCU and CICU may be required.
