Job Summary:
The Intensive Care Unit (ICU) Nursing position is located in Palo Alto. The role involves providing comprehensive, evidence-based care to critically ill patients within the scope of practice of the California Nursing Practice Act, regulatory requirements, and hospital policies. The ICU Nurse partners with patients and families to deliver family-centered care, assesses and interprets patient data, executes care plans, and collaborates with healthcare team members to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
Job Details:
- Schedule: Rotating shift, 12 hours per shift, minimum of 36 hours per week.
- Required Qualifications: California Registered Nurse (CA-RN) license, Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited college or university (preferred), current American Heart Association Certification for Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers, at least 1 year of experience in an ICU setting or similar environment. Ability to communicate effectively in English.
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience working within a high-acuity critical care environment, strong clinical judgment skills, and demonstrated ability to work in a team-oriented setting.
- Additional Information: The role involves providing emotional support, conducting assessments, developing and implementing individualized care plans, teaching patients and families, and participating in continuous quality improvement activities. The candidate must be committed to lifelong learning and professional development, maintain licensure and certification, and demonstrate leadership in clinical practice.
