Job Summary:
The Intensive Care Unit (ICU) registered nurse position is located in a major medical center in Madison, Wisconsin. The role involves providing comprehensive care across multiple ICU specialties, including Neuro ICU, Cardiothoracic, Burn ICU, and Trauma Surgery, among others. The RN will work rotating shifts, primarily nights, in a fast-paced, critical care environment supporting adult and geriatric patient populations. The position requires flexibility to float to various ICU units as needed.

Job Details:

  • Schedule: Night shift, 12-hour shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week, starting on 09/14/2026 and ending on 12/14/2026.
  • Required Qualifications: WI registered nurse license or compact license, BLS and ACLS certifications from AHA, experience with multiple ICU units, Basic Arrhythmia experience, must pass telemetry exam prior to start, minimum two years of acute care experience within the last 3 years in critical care.
  • Preferred Qualifications: 5 years of experience, charge nurse experience, experience with charting system Epic, trauma level I experience, neonatal and pediatrics experience, Intermediate and progressive care experience, certification in NIHSS, TNCC, familiarity with advanced ICU procedures and equipment.
  • Additional Information: The RN will care for adult and geriatric ICU patients, supporting interdisciplinary teams including phlebotomy, respiratory services, pharmacy, and social services. The role includes managing complex patients with multisystem organ failure, traumatic brain injuries, post cardiac and neurosurgical patients, with a focus on telemetry, arrhythmia management, and ventilator support. The position involves passing strict telemetry interpretation exams with two attempts allowed prior to starting.
