Job Summary:
Intensive Care Unit (ICU) Nurse position is based in a Magnet-designated acute care hospital. The role involves providing specialized nursing care for adult patients with complex cardiac, pulmonary, vascular, dialysis, and cardiac catheter diagnoses. The position requires adherence to clinical protocols and procedures, with responsibilities including assisting with line insertion, intubation, and hypothermia protocols.
Job Details:
- Schedule: Night shift, 12 hours per shift, minimum of 36 hours per week
- Required Qualifications: Certifications in Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Stroke (NIH), and Basic Life Support (BLS); 2 years of ICU experience; authorized to work in relevant states; minimum one-year experience in relevant clinical settings
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience with continuous IV sedation, CRRT / CVVHD, intra-aortic balloon pump (IABP), interpretation of dysrhythmias, and mechanical ventilation management; familiarity with Epic charting system; open to floating within scope between ICU and Intermediate Care Units
- Additional Information: The assignment requires open heart experience (preferred) and proficiency in procedures like line insertion and intubation. The unit operates with a patient census of approximately 20, with interdisciplinary support provided by unit secretaries. The position involves caring for adult patients with complex cardiac and pulmonary diagnoses, including some requiring hypothermia protocols and specialized equipment.
- Compliance & Licensing: License in hand required at time of submittal; no more than 7 days RTO allowed; vaccination requirements as per facility policy; labs must be completed within 48-72 hours of signing; modules required prior to start
