Registered Nurse Job Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license required
- At least 1 year of recent acute care, med-surg, stepdown, or similar inpatient nursing experience required
- BLS certification required
- ACLS required by the end of orientation
- Comfort working in a high-acuity hospital environment with changing patient needs
- Strong teamwork, communication, and adaptability skills
- Experience with Cerner electronic medical record systems is a plus
Acute Care RN Responsibilities
- Provide safe, compassionate, and efficient nursing care for acute care patients
- Monitor patient conditions and respond quickly to changes in status
- Perform and assist with procedures such as IV starts, CVLs, arterial lines, Foley catheter care, EKG monitoring, and wound care
- Collaborate with an interdisciplinary healthcare team to support treatment plans and discharge goals
- Support a team-based care model focused on quality outcomes and patient-centered service
- Document accurately in the EMR and maintain strong clinical communication throughout the shift
- Adapt to unit needs and provide dependable coverage during weekend rotations as scheduled
