Job Summary:
Intensive Care Unit (ICU) Nurse Night Shift Location not specified. This position involves providing critical care in a 30-bed ICU comprising Medical ICU (MICU), Neuro ICU, and Surgical ICU units. The role requires managing patients undergoing complex neurological and surgical procedures, assisting with bedside procedures, and interpreting invasive hemodynamic data. The nurse will work approximately 36 hours per week, with shift hours from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM, including every other weekend and holiday.
Job Details:
- Schedule: Night shift, 12 hours per shift, minimum 36 hours per week.
- Required Qualifications: Valid nursing license, BLS (Basic Life Support) certification, ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification, NIHSS (National Institute of Health Stroke Scale) certification, minimum 3 years of ICU experience, and experience with bedside procedures including intubation, central line placement, arterial line placement, chest tube insertion, thoracentesis, TEEs, and cardioversions.
- Must have experience managing ventilated patients, using Bipap/Avaps, handling vasoactive medications, and managing patients undergoing general surgical, stroke/neuro, cath lab, or radiology procedures.
- Ability to interpret invasive hemodynamic values (CO/CI/SVV/CVP/SvO2).
- Comfortable working on low census days with low RTO during holidays; floating to different ICU units may be required.
- Works every other weekend and every other holiday; sick calls on weekends result in work the following weekend.
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience with open heart surgeries (CABG, valve surgeries, AAA), comprehensive stroke interventions (EVD, thrombectomy, TNK), managing assist devices (IABP, Impella, CRRT via Prisma), prone positioning, and paralytics (TOF/BIS monitoring).
