Job Summary:
Gastroenterology Laboratory (GI LAB) nurse position available in a fast-paced procedural environment. Located in the region, this role involves assisting physicians during gastrointestinal and endoscopy procedures, with a focus on endoscopy, preoperative, and postoperative care. The position requires flexible start times and a commitment to 36 to 40 hours per week.

Job Details:

  • Schedule: 8-hour day shifts with flexible start times between 7:00 AM and 11:00 AM; 36-40 hours per week.
  • Required Qualifications: Active Illinois licensure, CPR certification, ACLS certification, Epic electronic health record experience, minimum of 2+ years of experience in GI Lab, Endoscopy, PACU, or Telemetry admission and recovery.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Experience with GI procedures, preoperative and postoperative care, proficiency in Epic EHR system.
  • Additional Information: Candidate must pass an EKG test with at least 80% accuracy on the first day. Typical caseload is between 30-60 cases per day using Olympus scopes and supplies from various known manufacturers. Epic experience is highly preferred. The role may include floating to other facilities such as Skokie, Evanston, or Glenbrook. No weekend work; holidays are observed with no guaranteed hours during those weeks. Orientation sessions begin on Mondays.
  • Certifications Required: Active Illinois nursing license, CPR, ACLS.
  • Submission Requirements: Updated resume, one reference from a supervisor within the last year, Illinois licensure documentation, skills checklist, and proof of passing EKG test with 80% or higher.
