Job Summary:
Telemetry Medical Surgical Float (MS Telemetry) nurse position in a healthcare facility offers a unique opportunity to work within Zone 4, based around Garden City, Kansas. This role involves floating across multiple units, including General Medical-Surgical, Cardiac, Neuro, Oncology, Renal, and other specialized departments. The position requires flexibility to assist with various acuity levels, including ICU, PCU/Stepdown, and Medical Surgical Telemetry, with an emphasis on adult and geriatric patient populations.
Job Details:
- Schedule: Nights shift, 11.5 hours per shift, with a minimum of 34.5 hours per week.
- Required Qualifications: License to submit; ACLS (AHA), BLS (AHA), NIHSS certifications; minimum of 0 years of experience; geographic location within 60 miles of the healthcare provider's zones.
- Preferred Qualifications: Prior neuro experience, experience with Alaris infusion pumps, and familiarity with EPIC electronic medical record system.
- Float: Float rotation may be required within Zone 4, covering multiple facilities around Garden City, Kansas, including Ulysses and Dodge City.
- Additional Information: Candidates must be available for a 13-week assignment starting September 14, 2026, ending December 14, 2026. All travelers are expected to float as needed across various units and specialties, including ICU (for low acuity holds within skillset), PCU/Stepdown, and MS-Telemetry. The first float assignment will be communicated on or before the start date. Time off requests need to be submitted prior to starting the assignment. No home base facility is designated, and the assignment includes a policy allowing cancellation of up to 4 shifts during the term.
- Charting is performed in EPIC.
- Shift Notes: Nights, with 6-9 weekend shifts in a 6-week schedule, with occasional holiday rotation. Call or standby is rare, typically for low census.
