Job Summary:
The Nursing Professional Development Specialist I (NPDP I) in Palo Alto, California, is a registered nurse with advanced practice judgment and expertise who plays a vital role in fostering professional growth and role competence among nursing staff. This position supports continuous development of the healthcare team through education, mentorship, and leadership, contributing to the delivery of high-quality, evidence-based patient care.

Job Details:

  • Shift Time: Days
  • Schedule: 8 hours per day, with a minimum of 40 hours per week
  • Required Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in Nursing from an accredited university or Masters in Nursing with coursework in curriculum development, adult learning theory, learning needs assessment, and learning outcome measurement from an accredited college or university; Four (4) years of progressively responsible nursing experience, including at least one year as a nurse educator or equivalent. Valid CA Registered Nurse license and BLS certification upon hire.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Experience in nursing education, curriculum development, and use of evidence-based teaching methods is highly desirable.
  • Additional Information: The NPDP I will develop, coordinate, and evaluate onboarding, orientation, competency management, and educational initiatives for nursing and healthcare personnel. The role involves collaboration with leadership and staff to support professional development, conduct assessments, and promote inquiry through dissemination of findings. The position emphasizes leadership, change management, and fostering a professional nursing environment to improve practice and patient outcomes.
