Job Summary:
Emergency Room (ER) Registered Nurse (RN) position in a Level I trauma center. This role involves providing comprehensive emergency care for adult and pediatric patients in a busy 56-bed emergency department with an average daily patient census of 175. The ER RN will be responsible for delivering high-quality patient assessment, intervention, and stabilization, utilizing advanced clinical skills in a fast-paced environment.
Job Details:
- Schedule: Night shifts, 12 hours per shift, minimum of 48 hours per week, starting on 09/14/2026 and ending on 12/14/2026.
- Required Qualifications: Valid Illinois RN license or in application process with ETA, 2 years of ER experience, ACLS, BLS, PALS, TNCC certifications, and experience with Cardiac Monitoring, Emergency response, IV Therapy, and Pediatric and Neurological patient care.
- Preferred Qualifications: Community hospital experience, trauma level I certification, and prior experience with Cerner charting system.
- Open to First-Time Travelers: Yes, with a minimum of 2 years of ER experience.
- Minimum Experience: No minimum years of experience required beyond the specified qualifications.
- Additional Responsibilities: Utilizing skills in dysrhythmia interpretation, management of multisystem organ failure, trauma management, pediatric emergencies, psychiatric cases, respiratory management, and triage.
- Special Requirements: Must meet hospital clinical standards, including handling complex emergency cases such as CVA, spinal injuries, traumatic brain injuries, and orthopedic trauma.
- Certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS, and TNCC required; NIHSS* and NRP* certifications preferred.
- Other Details: Cerner experience required, on-call not required, will not float outside scope, and no specific on-site requirements for float rotation.
- Compliance: Candidate must be pre-closed at submission, with verified Illinois license, valid certifications, and up-to-date background check findings disclosed.
