Opportunity:

Job Details:
• Work in a 12-bed emergency department unit, utilizing hallway beds as needed
• Night shift staffing structure: 5 RNs and 1 paramedic until 2300, transitioning to 4 RNs and 1 paramedic at 0100, then 3 RNs and 1 paramedic from 0100 to 0700
• Patient population ranges from neonates to geriatrics with a majority of adult patients
• Patient ratios of 1:5, up to 1:6 on rare occasions based on acuity
• Weekend rotation required every other weekend
• No on-call responsibilities
• Holiday expectations vary based on unit need
• Minimum 2 years of experience required; first-time travelers considered on a case-by-case basis
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, TNCC, PALS, and de-escalation training (MOAB or CPI)
• General ED skillset required including chest tubes, drips, IV starts, phlebotomy, EKGs, and cardiac rhythm interpretation
• Charting system: Epic
• Equipment used: GE monitors, Alaris, and Pyxis
• No floating required
• Orientation consists of 1 shift on the unit to learn workflow
• Scrub color: Any
• Free on-site parking provided
Facility:
This facility is a 69-bed hospital operating as a Level IV Trauma Center and Primary Stroke Center. The emergency department consists of 12 beds including triage and is supported by a respiratory therapist and hospitalist in-house 24/7. Additional support includes CNAs at a 1:12 ratio, a Lead RN functioning as a resource nurse, and bedside and nursing station telemetry monitoring. The facility provides comprehensive care to a diverse patient population and maintains robust support systems to ensure quality patient outcomes.
