Manitowoc - ED 12 bed unit, often using hallway beds (staffing night shift with 5RN's & 1 paramedic until 2300 then drops to 4 RN's and 1 paramedic at 0100, from 0100-0700 staff with 3 RN's and paramedic.

General Information: Beds: 12 (including Triage)

Experience- 2 years

First-time traveler- Upon Review

Patient Types: Neonates to geriatrics, various types of illnesses, majority of patients are adults

Patient Ratios: 1-5, up to 6 rarely (acuity based)

Required Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, TNCC, PALS, De-escalation training (MOAB or CPI)

Skills required : General ED skillset, chest tubes, drips, IV starts, phlebotomy, EKGs, cardiac rhythm interpretation

Support on the Unit:

• CNA (Ratio – 1:12)
• Charge nurse: does this person have patient load: No titled Charge RN in the ED
• Phlebotomy team: ED RN s will perform phlebotomy at the bedside
• Resource Nurse, Lead RN functions as a resource
• RT – in house 24/7: Yes
• Hospitalist – in house 24/7: Yes
• Bedside and Nursing station telemetry – no tele tech

Charting System/Equipment:

• Epic
• Client monitors
• Alaris
• Pyxis

Floating: No

Orientation: 1 shift on the unit to learn the flow

Scheduling:

• Weekend rotation: Yes, every other
• Can we approve time off: (typically we are able to approve up to 7 days without approval) Yes, But consideration should also be given to staffing needs of the department.
• Will they be on call: If so, what is that schedule: No call
• Holiday Expectations: varies, based on unit need
