Job Summary:
Emergency Room Registered Nurse (RN) position in a busy emergency department. The role involves rotating shifts including days, evenings, and nights, with a focus on providing high-quality patient care in a dynamic environment. The position requires adaptability to a variety of shift times and a commitment to patient safety and clinical excellence.
Job Details:
- Schedule: Rotating shifts with 12-hour shifts (7a-7p, 11a-11p, and 7p-7a) when requested, with a minimum of 36 hours per week. Night shifts do not rotate.
- Required Qualifications: Licensure verification, Emergency Nursing experience of at least 2 years, certifications including American Heart Association (AHA) Certified Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS). Prior experience with EPIC electronic medical records system.
- Preferred Qualifications: NRP and TNCC certifications are strongly preferred.
- Float: Float rotation may be required.
- Additional Information: The facility features a 65-bed emergency department with pediatric, mental health, and adult pods. The patient population includes all ages, with approximately 230 visits per day. The nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:4, and general ED nursing skills such as assessment, documentation, IV insertion, phlebotomy, EKG monitoring, point-of-care testing, splinting, critical thinking, and patient education are essential.
