Job Summary:
Emergency Room (ER) Nurse position in a healthcare facility located within a 60-mile radius of Garden City, Kansas. This role involves providing acute care in a Level STEMI Receiving Stroke Center ER. The position includes night shifts with a schedule of 11.5 hours per shift, a minimum of 34.5 hours per week, and an assignment period from 09/14/2026 to 12/14/2026. The nurse will be expected to float within the designated region and adhere to facility-specific protocols.
Job Details:
- Schedule: Night shifts, 11.5 hours per shift, minimum of 34.5 hours per week, from 09/14/2026 to 12/14/2026.
- Required Qualifications: ACLS (American Heart Association), BLS (American Heart Association), PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) or ENPC (Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course), NIHSS (National Institute of Health Stroke Scale), TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course), 2 years of ER experience, valid license to submit.
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience managing common ER diagnoses such as abdominal pain, DM, NSTEMI, pneumonia, trauma, stroke, and HTN; proficiency in managing drips and standard ER medications.
- Float: Float rotation may be required within the designated zone, covering multiple facilities within a 60-mile radius.
- Additional Information:
- No home base facility; all travelers can float within Zone 4 (around Garden City, KS).
- First float assignment communicated on or before the start date.
- Training includes a 2-3 day unit/department orientation.
- Nurses may perform tasks including ABGs, breathing treatments, EKGs, and Point of Care lab testing, with appropriate training provided.
- Charting system used is EPIC.
