Job Summary:
Emergency Room (ER) Nurse Manager position is available at a Level 3 Trauma Center located in Spokane, WA. This role offers an opportunity to lead a dedicated team in a busy, high-acuity environment with a focus on team support and stress management. The position is offered on a 21-week contractual basis with the potential for holiday coverage and involves supervising ER staff during night shifts.
Job Details:
- Schedule: Nights, 12-hour shift times, minimum 36 hours per week
- Required Qualifications: Bachelors Degree in Nursing, Registered Nurse (RN) Licensure, BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS, MOAB/CPI certification (or ability to start without at least 10/22/2024 per email), 3-5 years of recent experience in a Level 3 or higher Emergency Room setting, EPIC experience required for preceptor and traditional traveler.
- Skills: RSI, conscious sedations, lines/drains/tubes, general ER skills
- Support on the Unit: CNA/ER Tech (2-4 techs depending on shift), receptionists/HUC, charge nurse, phlebotomy (performed by RN), resource nurse, RT, hospitalist, bedside/centralized telemetry monitoring
- Technology/Equipment: EPIC electronic medical record, Alaris IV pumps, Pyxis medication dispensing, bedside and centralized monitors
- Orientation: 1 week general orientation, 24 weeks unit orientation; for preceptors, NEO plus 1-2 shifts with preceptor, 2-3 weeks on unit.
- Floats: Float: Float rotation may be required.
- Additional Information: Utilizes a 1:1 model for critical patient care; supports a team-oriented culture with emphasis on staff support in a potentially stressful environment; shift cycles and specific start dates are as noted; limited time off approvals (7 days, additional with nurse manager approval).
