Job Summary:
Emergency Room Nurse San Luis Obispo, California. Job Details:

  • Schedule: Nights, 12-hour shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week, starting on 08/17/2026.
  • Required Qualifications: Associate Degree in Nursing (A.S.) or equivalent; Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (preferred); one year in acute care experience; current RN license in the state of practice; Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification; Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification; Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) within six months of hire or transfer; Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from an approved vendor; AHA-ACLS or ARC-ALS; AHA-PALS or ARC-PALS.
  • Preferred Qualifications: None specified.
  • Additional Information:
    • Performs accurate triage assessments on all patients and communicates abnormal signs, symptoms, and vital signs to the Emergency Department physician 100% of the time.
    • Reviews and completes patient orders efficiently and provides medication side effects education during discharge.
    • Recognizes symptoms of cardiac or respiratory distress and appropriate emergencies, with appropriate interventions.
    • Demonstrates competence in routine nursing skills, including medication administration, intravenous therapy, care of indwelling catheters and drains, and safe use of medical equipment used in critical care.
    • Accurately interprets ECG rhythms and manages care during life-threatening emergencies.
    • Maintains clear, accurate, and timely documentation of care and responses to treatments.
    • Performs safety and quality control checks and coordinates with inpatient units for admissions.
    • Performs other relevant duties as assigned.
