Job Summary:
Emergency Room (ER) nurse position in a short-term acute care facility located in a Level III trauma center setting. The role involves providing specialized emergency care with responsibilities that include managing trauma, airway, and multisystem organ failure, along with performing procedures such as intubation, central line care, and advanced cardiac life support. The schedule is night shifts, with a focus on delivering high-quality, fast-paced emergency services.
Job Details:
- Shift: Nights, 12 hours per shift, with a minimum of 36 hours per week
- Required Qualifications: Valid state license; at least 2 years of recent ER experience; certifications in ACLS, BLS, PALS, TNCC, NIHSS; experience with airway management, arterial line care, chest tube insertion, intubation, trauma, cardiac rhythm interpretation, and emergency medication administration; familiarity with Epic charting system and ER patient care protocols.
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience managing vented patients, neuro-trauma, pediatric emergency care, and working in a trauma-certified facility.
- Additional Information:
- Previous charge nurse experience preferred
- Ability to cover charge responsibilities, with shifts potentially varying between staff and charge nurse roles
- Must commit to working 3 of the 5 major holidays including Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, and New Year's Day
- Will be floating between units within the facility as needed; candidates must be flexible and willing to float
- Willingness to work every other weekend, alternating shifts, and adhere to facility policies regarding time off requests
- Candidates should have at least 1 year of ER experience in a similar healthcare setting and be capable of managing complex emergency cases.
