Job Summary:
Emergency Room Nurse in Overland Park, Kansas. This position involves providing high-quality emergency care in a Level 2 trauma center, with a focus on trauma, STEMI, stroke, and sepsis management. The role requires a minimum of two years of emergency or trauma nursing experience and supports a clinical environment that emphasizes positive patient experiences.

Job Details:

  • Schedule: Nights shifts, 12 hours per shift, minimum of 36 hours per week, with start dates beginning 09/21/2026 and ending 12/21/2026.
  • Required Qualifications: Current Kansas Registered Nurse (RN) license; at least 2 years of emergency or trauma nursing experience in a Level 2 trauma center; certifications including ACLS, BLS, ENPC or PALS, and TNCC. Preferred certifications include CPI and CEN.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Experience in trauma, STEMI, stroke, and sepsis care; knowledge of triage procedures; ability to perform all procedures associated with a Level 2 trauma center.
  • Additional Information: The unit maintains 24 beds with a patient-to-nurse ratio of 1:4, and staffing includes a unit secretary available 21 hours daily and five registered nurses during peak hours. Equipment includes Level 1 fluid warmers, GE monitor systems, Artic Sun, Lifepak, and Alaris pumps. Documentation is managed through Meditech. Staff are expected to adhere to hospital policies on floating, patient experience, and dress code (solid cobalt blue uniform with closed-toe shoes). The shift may include every third weekend, and shifts as early as 10:00 and as late as 1:30.
