Job Summary:
Emergency Room (ER) Nurse position in a healthcare facility located in the region. This role involves providing advanced emergency nursing care across multiple trauma levels, including patient assessment, administration of drips such as sedatives, vasoactive agents, insulin, pain management, and antiarrhythmics. Candidates must be proficient in reading tele strips, possess active state licensure, and have recent experience working in a Level I trauma setting. The position requires floating across all campuses and working night shifts.
Job Details:
- Schedule: Night shifts, 12 hours per shift, minimum of 36 hours per week.
- Certifications: BLS (American Heart Association or ARC), ACLS (American Heart Association), PALS (American Heart Association), TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course), NIHSS (National Institute of Health Stroke Scale) preferred but can be obtained during onboarding.
- Required Qualifications: 15 years of current emergency department experience, experience with drips including sedation and vasoactive medications, reading tele strips, proficiency with antiarrhythmics, heparin, insulin, pain control, active Iowa license, and recent or current Level I trauma experience.
- Additional Information: Must have worked in multiple Level II trauma facilities within the past 15 months, recent travel experience required, and demonstrate proficiency with EPIC electronic medical record system. Orientation dates are 09/14 and 09/28, with sooner starts prioritized. Candidates are expected to work 1-2 of the upcoming three summer holidays (Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day).
