Job Summary:
Emergency Room (ER) Registered Nurse (RN) position in a high-acuity emergency care unit. This role involves providing advanced nursing care to diverse patient populations, including stroke, STEMI, trauma, and psychiatric patients. The position requires collaboration with the healthcare team to deliver quality emergency services and manage complex clinical scenarios.
Job Details:
- Shift: Days
- Schedule: 12-hour shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week.
- Required Qualifications: Valid BLS (Basic Life Support), ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support), PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support), NIHSS (National Institute of Health Stroke Scale), and CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute) certifications. One year of experience in emergency nursing or related clinical setting.
- Patient Care: Care for all ages with a high level of acuity, including stroke, STEMI, walk-in traumas, and psychiatric patients.
- Patient Ratios: 1:4 nurse-to-patient ratio.
- Support within Department: ER technician, house supervisor, charge nurse, RT (Respiratory Therapist) available 24/7, hospitalist teams available 24/7.
- Technology/Equipment: EMR system (Cerner), IV pump (Plum 360), medication dispensing (Omnicell), monitors (Philips).
- Unit Specific Equipment: Not specified.
- Floating: No floating required.
- Orientation: New Employee Orientation (NEO) including one shift on the floor.
- Scheduling: Willing to consider block scheduling; weekend rotations every third week; no on-call requirement.
- Other Notes: Scrub color is galaxy blue, with black bottoms. Parking is free.
