Job Summary:
Emergency Room (ER) Nursing in an acute care environment. This position involves performing independent nursing functions and delegated medical duties in accordance with state Board of Nursing standards. The nursing professional will assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care, including health data collection, health teaching, and counseling. The role also entails executing delegated medical functions, monitoring therapy and treatment plans, and ensuring proper documentation. Flexibility to float to other departments within scope of competency and qualifications may be required, and some shifts may necessitate being on-call during scheduled hours.
Job Details:
- Schedule: Nights shift, 12 hours per shift, minimum of 36 hours per week
- Required Qualifications: An active license as a Registered Nurse in the state of practice; graduation from an accredited School of Nursing (ASN required, Bachelor's preferred); basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association; experience in emergency or acute care nursing is preferred, with a minimum of 0 years of experience.
- Preferred Qualifications: Previous experience in an Emergency Room setting; certification as appropriate for the unit or service; additional clinical certifications may be preferred.
- Additional Information: The role involves assessment and management of ER patients, health education, counseling, and clinical documentation. Responsibilities include medical function execution, patient referrals, treatment plan monitoring, and resource utilization. Candidates should be capable of adapting to various departmental needs within their scope of practice and expected to potentially be on-call.
