• Shift: Monday through Friday, 6:30 AM to 3:00 PM; occasional start time as early as 5:30 AM
• Shift Duration: 8 hours
• Shifts Per Week: 5
• Hours per Week: 40
• Call Requirements: On-call schedule includes approximately 10–12 call shifts over 6 weeks, including 1–2 weekends and 1–2 weekdays
• Estimated Weekly Pay: $2,750–$2,890

Job Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse license in the state of practice or compact state eligibility
• BLS and ACLS required
• NIH certification required
• Minimum 2 years of cardiac nursing experience required
• At least 1–2 years of general Operating Room experience required
• Previous travel nursing experience preferred
• Dysrhythmia exam required
• Strong knowledge of sterile technique, surgical workflow, and perioperative best practices
• Ability to work effectively in a high-acuity, fast-paced surgical environment

Responsibilities

• Provide preoperative, intraoperative, and postoperative nursing care for cardiac and general surgical patients
• Circulate for CVOR procedures, including CABG, TAVRs, windows, VATs, open heart procedures, and general surgery as needed
• Monitor patient condition before, during, and after surgery to support optimal outcomes
• Coordinate with surgeons, anesthesia, and the broader surgical team to ensure safe and efficient procedures
• Assist with gowning, draping, patient positioning, and sterile field maintenance
• Anticipate surgical team needs and maintain accurate documentation throughout the case
• Support safe patient transport, room setup, and adherence to infection control standards
• Respond appropriately to call coverage needs and changing case volumes
• Deliver compassionate, patient-centered care with attention to quality and safety
