Job Summary:
Operating Room Open Heart Nurse in Denver, Colorado. This role involves performing independent nursing functions and delegated medical functions in an advanced cardiovascular surgical environment. The candidate will assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care, with a focus on cardiac and neurological procedures, in accordance with accepted practice standards and regulatory guidelines.
Job Details:
- Schedule: Days shift, 10 hours per shift, with a minimum of 40 hours per week.
- Required Qualifications: - ASN (Associate of Science in Nursing) from an accredited School of Nursing. - Current license as a Registered Nurse in the state of practice. - BLS (Basic Life Support) certified by the American Heart Association. - Minimum of one (1) year experience in a clinical setting, preferably within operating room or cardiovascular units.
- Preferred Qualifications: - Bachelors degree of Nursing. - Previous experience as a Registered Nurse in operating room or open heart procedure environments.
- Additional Information: - Performs independent nursing functions and delegated medical functions within scope of competency and qualifications. - Assesses patient health status through ongoing data collection and analysis. - Implements health teaching and health counseling tailored to cardiac patients. - Provides therapy and treatment that is supportive and restorative, including execution of delegated medical functions. - Monitors therapy and treatment plans, referring patients as needed for evaluation or ongoing care. - Documents patient care in accordance with hospital and regulatory guidelines. - Utilizes available resources efficiently. - May be required to float to other departments within scope of competency and qualifications based on business needs. - May be placed on-call during scheduled shifts.
