Job Summary:
Intensive Care Unit Cardiovascular (ICU OH) nurse serving in a specialized cardiac care unit. This role involves providing immediate post-operative care for cardiac surgery patients, including management of ventilators, invasive lines, and complex patient conditions. The position requires extensive experience in cardiovascular critical care, with a focus on adult and geriatric patient populations.
Job Details:
- Schedule: 3 nights per week, 12-hour night shifts from 19:30 to 08:00, with a minimum of 36 hours per week.
- Required Qualifications: Valid RN license in the state of Maryland or a Compact license, BLS, ACLS certifications; 2+ years of experience in intensive care, particularly cardiovascular units; willingness to float within the specialty, including intermediate care and lower acuity areas.
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience with arterial line management, chest tube procedures, CVICU patient care, and familiarity with electronic medical record systems such as Epic.
- Float: Float rotation may be required, including to intermediate care units and lower acuity areas, within the scope of cardiovascular nursing.
- Additional Information: This role involves immediate post-op care for cardiac surgery patients, including monitoring for complications such as cardiogenic shock, arrhythmias, and organ dysfunction. Responsibilities include vent management, use of specialized equipment such as Flo Trac, CRRT, Impella, and IABP, and managing groin/radial artery sites. Candidates must be comfortable with complex clinical procedures and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
