Job Summary:
Critical Care / Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (ICU) located in an acute care setting. This role involves managing post-surgical patients primarily following cardiothoracic surgeries, vascular surgeries, thoracotomies, transcatheter aortic valve replacements (TAVRs), and complex percutaneous coronary interventions (PCI). The position requires expertise in post-operative recovery, invasive monitoring, and advanced cardiovascular procedures within a specialized unit.
Job Details:
- Schedule: Day shifts, 12 hours per shift, minimum of 36 hours per week
- Required Qualifications: Valid Nursys license, driver's license or state ID, professional profile, two professional references, authorized resume, and minimum of 1 year experience in critical care or cardiovascular nursing
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience with Edwards or GE patient monitoring systems, SWAN Ganz catheter management, and post-surgical cardiovascular patient care
- Additional Information: Responsibilities include monitoring post-open heart surgery patients, managing central and arterial line placements, chest tube management, and operating invasive monitoring devices such as SWAN Ganz catheters. The unit maintains a patient ratio of 1:1 to 1:3 and cares for postoperative patients following complex cardiac and vascular procedures. Flexibility to work day shifts in an intensive care environment is essential.
