Job Details

• Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,070-$2,180
• Setting: Acute care cardiac stepdown / intermediate care unit
• Employment Type: Travel nursing job
• Shift Duration: 12-hour nights
• Schedule: 12-hour night shifts, weekends as scheduled
• Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
• Start Date: Available immediately
• Contract Length: 13 weeks
• Charting System: EPIC
• Orientation: Unit-based orientation with preceptor support to help you get started confidently
• Floating: May float to Telemetry or MedSurg as needed

Job Requirements

• At least 1 year of recent acute care, telemetry, or stepdown nursing experience preferred
• Active RN license in good standing
• BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
• Strong telemetry interpretation skills and comfort reading and interpreting rhythm strips
• Experience titrating cardiac drips such as Amiodarone, Cardizem, Dopamine, Dobutamine, Labetalol, Nitro, and Heparin
• Ability to work flexible weekends and adapt to the needs of the unit
• Excellent communication, prioritization, and critical thinking skills

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care to cardiac stepdown and intermediate care patients
• Monitor and respond to patients with chest pain, CHF, arrhythmias, post-pacer needs, and pre/post-cardiac catheterization care
• Assess patients thoroughly and promptly escalate changes in condition when needed
• Titrate cardiac medications and maintain safe, effective patient monitoring
• Interpret telemetry strips and collaborate closely with the care team
• Document accurately in EPIC and maintain strong attention to detail
• Support unit workflow by floating appropriately and assisting with overflow patient care when assigned
• Deliver compassionate, patient-centered care in a fast-paced acute care environment
