• Shift Duration: 12-hour rotating shifts
• Schedule: Days or nights, with every other weekend required
• Weekly Hours: 36 hours
• Unit Focus: Mixed-acuity pediatric cardiac stepdown and intermediate care
• Charting System: Epic

Job Requirements

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license
• Minimum of 2 years of acute care nursing experience in the specialty within the last 3 years
• BLS and PALS certification required (AHA only)
• Epic EMR experience required
• Ability to pass a telemetry exam prior to start
• Experience in pediatric stepdown, intermediate care, or mixed-acuity units preferred
• Comfort managing patients with respiratory support needs, including CPAP, BiPAP, tracheostomy care, and ventilator dependence
• Strong assessment, telemetry interpretation, and critical thinking skills

Responsibilities

• Provide safe, compassionate nursing care for pediatric patients with cardiac and stepdown-level needs
• Monitor telemetry and recognize rhythm changes, escalation needs, and early signs of clinical deterioration
• Care for patients with neurologic, diabetic, nephrology, and respiratory diagnoses
• Support patients requiring tracheostomy care, ventilator management, CPAP, and BiPAP
• Administer medications, manage IV therapy, and perform blood product administration as needed
• Collaborate with respiratory therapy, IV teams, pharmacy, phlebotomy, radiology, and rapid response support
• Float as needed to support patient care across the unit
• Deliver family-centered care in a healing environment designed for pediatric patients and their families
