Travel RN – Cath Lab

Chesapeake, Virginia | Days | 5x8 or 4x10

Join the cardiovascular team at Chesapeake Regional Healthcare, located in Coastal Virginia near Virginia Beach and Norfolk.

Assignment Details

• Specialty: Cath Lab RN
• Schedule: 5x8s or 4x10s
• Shift Window: Variable day shifts between 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM
• Call: Rotating weekday, weekend, and holiday call
• Floating: May work across Cath Lab, Electrophysiology, and Cath Holding
• EMR: Epic
• Patient Population: Adult and geriatric
• Extended Contracts: Assignments through January 9, 2027 may be available
• Holiday Requirement: Must work 2 of 3 winter holidays

Required Experience

• Minimum 2 years of Cath Lab RN experience
• Prior experience in ICU, Cardiac Care, or Emergency Department
• Epic proficiency required — no exceptions

Required License & Certifications

• Active Virginia RN license or Compact RN license at submission
• BLS
• ACLS

Cath Lab Skills

Candidates should be comfortable with procedures and skills including:

• Diagnostic and interventional cardiac catheterization
• Left and right heart cath
• PCI and stent placement
• Procedural sedation
• Cardiac drips and vasoactive medications
• ACT monitoring
• Sheath removal and monitoring
• Vascular closure devices
• IABP
• Impella
• Cardioversion
• 12-lead EKG/ECG
• Circulating procedures

Experience with EP procedures, pacemakers, Watchman, atherectomy, and TEE is a plus.

Important Traveler Requirements

• 50-mile radius rule: RN candidates must live 50+ miles from the facility
• All RTO must be provided at time of submission
• Facility will not consider candidates with prior license or background hits
• Current address must be included with submission
• Facility cannot accommodate PAPR fit-testing needs

Testing

An EKG competency test may be required based on assigned department.

• Passing score: 80%
• Only 1 attempt
• No remediation available

Vaccination Requirements

• COVID-19 vaccine: Not required
• Flu vaccine: Required; medical/religious exemptions and declinations may be allowed
