Join our team as a Registered Nurse in the Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) in the vibrant city of New York, NY. Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality patient care in the Ambulatory PACU setting
- Monitor patients post-anesthesia, ensuring safety and comfort
- Administer medications, including emergency and analgesic medications
- Perform pre-op assessments and provide patient education
- Ensure proper documentation using the Epic system
- Manage cardiac monitoring and dysrhythmia recognition
- Implement hyperglycemia/hypoglycemia protocols and insulin management
- Assist with surgical procedures, including endoscopic and laparoscopic cases
- Administer anesthesia recovery protocols, including local and spinal anesthesia
- Conduct pre- and post-operative care and discharge instructions
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of experience in PACU or a similar setting
- Active New York State RN License
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification
- Experience with Epic documentation system preferred
- Strong clinical skills in ambulatory and outpatient care
- Proficient in IV insertion, maintenance, and medication administration
- Excellent communication and patient care skills
