Summary
Join our team as a dedicated NICU Travel Nurse in Hartford, CT, where you will have the opportunity to work in a state-of-the-art Level IV NICU. This role offers a dynamic work environment with a day/night rotating schedule, providing essential care to neonates, infants, and pediatric patients. Hartford, CT is a vibrant city with rich history and cultural attractions, making it an ideal location for both work and leisure.
Responsibilities
- Provide specialized nursing care to neonates and infants in a Level IV NICU.
- Administer medications, including anti-seizure medications, antibiotics, and antivirals.
- Perform APGAR scoring and arterial line management.
- Assist with procedures such as lumbar punctures and central line blood draws.
- Support breastfeeding and handle breast milk.
- Manage respiratory support systems including Bubble CPAP and high-flow nasal cannula.
- Conduct blood glucose monitoring and insulin administration.
- Implement isolation precautions and use PPE as required.
- Engage in patient and family teaching and support.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including IV teams, physical therapy, and respiratory services.
Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years of NICU experience, with Level 4 experience required.
- Current BLS, ACLS, and NRP certifications.
- Valid state license or compact license.
- Experience with patient ratios of 1:3.
- Previous travel nursing experience preferred.
- Flexibility to work day/night rotating shifts, including weekends.
