Job Opportunity – Registered Nurse, NICU – Apple Valley, CA 92307
Start Date: September 9, 2026
Location: Apple Valley, California
Schedule: Day shift, 3x12-hour shifts (06:00 - 18:30), every other weekend (may exceed to meet unit needs). 26-week assignment with guaranteed hours (facility may call off 1 shift per 2-week period).
Highlights:
- Level III NICU with 14 beds serving approximately 190 births per month
- Acute care hospital with 212 staffed beds utilizing Epic charting system
- Patient ratios of 2-3 based on acuity; care for neonates 29+ weeks with conditions including prematurity, RDS, NAS, and sepsis
- Comprehensive interdisciplinary support including respiratory services, pharmacy, radiology, and social services
- Free parking and navy blue scrubs for RNs
- Orientation includes 36-40 hours of onboarding
Requirements:
- Active California RN license or Compact license (must be in hand at submission)
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience with at least 1 year in Level III NICU (required)
- Current certifications: BLS, NRP Advanced (or willing to obtain before start), PALS
- Epic charting experience required; community hospital experience preferred
- Proficiency in NICU skills including ventilator management, central line care, high-frequency ventilation, IV vasopressors, PICC line management, and administration of blood products
- Experience with specialized equipment including CPAP, BIPAP, oscillators, and isolettes
- Ability to manage neonatal conditions such as NEC, neonatal abstinence syndrome, and respiratory distress syndrome
- May float to Mother/Baby unit for infant care; couplet experience beneficial
- Must commit to working 3 of 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
- Two professional references covering 1 year within the last 3 years required
